Why explore Šolta by boat?
Šolta is a quiet island just west of Brač and close to Split, with deep bays, small fishing harbours and olive groves. It is often the first island visitors from Split reach by boat, yet it remains much less developed than its neighbours.

A little local history
Šolta was settled in antiquity and Roman remains are found around its bays, including at Nečujam. In the Middle Ages its inhabitants retreated inland to villages such as Grohote, and the coastal harbours grew later.
