Operator content & marketing

You keep ownership of your original content. CroatianBoats does not claim ownership of anything simply because it was uploaded.

By uploading or submitting photographs, videos, logos, descriptions and other listing content to CroatianBoats, you grant CroatianBoats a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, resize, crop, format, adapt and use that content for the operation, promotion and marketing of CroatianBoats and of your listing.

This licence covers use on: CroatianBoats.com; CroatianBoats social media accounts; Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube; Search, display and digital advertising; Email marketing and CroatianBoats newsletters; Promotional videos and destination campaigns; Print advertising, brochures and trade shows; Tourism promotions, public relations and presentations; Other CroatianBoats-owned or authorised promotional channels.

The licence allows CroatianBoats to promote both your particular boat and the CroatianBoats marketplace, without asking for new permission for every individual post.

Private operator documents and personal information are never marketing content and are not covered by this licence.

Factual marketing claims about price, availability, Instant Book or verification must always come from current platform data.

Final licence scope and duration are subject to review by Croatian and EU counsel.

These are only ever used where there is a separate lawful basis and, where required, your explicit authorisation.

Crop, resize and reformat photos

Add a marketing headline

Create social posts, reels, stories and destination or boat advertisements

Create homepage promotional content, sponsored advertising and email creative

Translate listing descriptions and create excerpts from public listing information

Use approved AI-assisted tools for layouts, captions, translations and copy

Approved AI-assisted tools may help with layouts, captions, translations and copy, using authorised operator content.

Materially misrepresenting the boat, operator, location, price, availability, experience or services

Fabricating boat features, prices, availability, operator credentials, reviews, safety claims, verification status, included services or destinations served

Advertising stale pricing or availability as if it were current

Altering the meaning of a review, or creating a review that was never written

Showing private traveller information or private operator information

Implying partnership, endorsement, employment, joint venture or CroatianBoats ownership of the boat

Showing a Verified Operator badge when the operator does not currently hold that status, or implying government certification

CroatianBoats may identify suitable live listings for features such as Boat of the Week, destination campaigns, Instant Book picks or family boats, using approved photography and public listing information.

Any claim about price, availability, Instant Book or verification is taken from current live listing data at the time the creative is produced.

You can also opt in to “Promote my boat”, which increases eligibility for social posts, featured and destination campaigns and email features. The basic rights needed to display and promote listings come from the Operator Terms, not from this optional setting.

You confirm you have the appropriate rights and permissions for anyone who appears recognisably in the content you upload, where permission is legally required.

Please do not upload images of identifiable children for marketing use unless you have the authority and consent to do so.

For the easiest approval, upload clean photographs of the boat, the scenery and the experience, where you have permission to use everything visible.

Potentially sensitive imagery may be held for manual review before it is used in marketing.

The content licence lets us display and promote your listing. Receiving CroatianBoats operator news and marketing emails is a separate, optional consent that is unticked by default and can be changed at any time.

If you pause your listing, CroatianBoats stops selecting that listing for new marketing campaigns while it is paused.

If you delete a listing, close your account, or CroatianBoats removes an operator, the listing stops being selected for new advertising campaigns.

Materials already published or already produced may need a reasonable transition or archival period, as permitted by the Operator Terms and applicable law.

The appropriate duration and any surviving licence rights are subject to review by Croatian and EU counsel.

If you believe content on CroatianBoats infringes your copyright, trademark, privacy or image rights, tell us using the form below. We review, and may hide or remove content, contact the operator, restore content and document the decision.

A complaint on its own never terminates an operator's account. While a rights issue is being reviewed, the affected content is held out of any new marketing.
