Why explore Trogir by boat?

Trogir's old town occupies a small island wedged between the mainland and Čiovo, connected by bridges and ringed by a stone waterfront. Boats leave from the middle of a UNESCO-listed town centre, and the Blue Lagoon at Drvenik Veliki, Šolta and the Čiovo coves are all within easy reach. Split airport is only a few kilometres away, which makes Trogir a practical first or last stop.

A little local history

Founded by Greek settlers from Vis in the 3rd century BC as Tragurion, Trogir prospered under Roman rule and again in the medieval period, when its cathedral and stone houses were built. Long Venetian rule brought the fortifications, the loggia and the town's compact defensive shape.
