A little local history
Nin was the Roman town of Aenona and later became one of the most important centres of the early Croatian state — the seat of the first Croatian bishopric and a royal town associated with the earliest Croatian rulers. Several small pre-Romanesque churches survive from that period, including the church of the Holy Cross.
