A little local history

The Baška tablet, carved in Glagolitic script around 1100, records King Zvonimir's gift of land to the Benedictine church of St Lucy at nearby Jurandvor, and is the earliest inscription to name the Croats in the Croatian language. It was found in that church; the original has been kept in Zagreb since 1934.
